On October 29, the Confucius Institute of CNU at St. Petersburg State University held an online council meeting. Russian participants included Professor Sergey Andryushin, vice president of St. Petersburg State University, related leaders of the Department of Oriental Studies of St. Petersburg State University, and Chinese and foreign directors of Confucius Institute of CNU at St. Petersburg State University. Li Xiaojuan, vice president of CNU, and leaders of the Confucius Institute Administration Office and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office attended the meeting.

　　At the council meeting, Sergey Andryushin spoke highly of the development of the Confucius Institute of CNU at St. Petersburg State University in 2020, acknowledged the efforts made by the two universities in this process, and expressed his gratitude to CNU for its long-term support. Associate Professors Yulia Melnikova and He Fang reported and explained cultural programs, teaching and financial budgets of the Confucius Institute of CNU at St. Petersburg State University in 2020-2021. The participants deliberated and approved the financial account for 2020 and the financial budget for 2021 of the Confucius Institute of CNU at St. Petersburg State University. In addition, the two sides also discussed future development strategies of the Confucius Institute, and had in-depth exchanges on the possibility of inter-school cooperation, such as Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs and joint training of the degree in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.
